Multiple art colleges were approached by the organisers of IFFR (International Film Festival Rotterdam). We were assigned to work on a large-sized animation for an orchestral piece called The Enigma Variations. This animation will be shown during the live performance at De Doelen in Rotterdam during IFFR.

Art colleges were working together with a Russian animator who created the final product. Some schools were working on 3D worlds (one world per musical piece) and other schools made animations of original characters. We and another art college got to work on these animations. These were loops, each of an original character made by a student him/herself and animated as a loop which would fit in the tempo of the music. I have made the following loop of a mouse character which is based on Winifred Norbury (one of the characters in the Enigma Variations).

The 3D world below is created by a different art college. We had to use this for inspiration.

This video does not contain a background. This animation loop is used by the VJ for the final product.
