During the entire 2nd semester, there was one course that covered the entire 3D animation pipeline. To start with an easy task, I had to design, model, rig and animate a robot character. My robot became a clumsy elementory school teacher. Most of the inspiration came from school robots and the guiding robot from the Wii U game Nintendo Land. It was mandatory that the robot has the same body has a human character.

Different tools for rigging had to be applied to my robot like FK and IK systems and constraints. The antennas were controlled by driven keys.

And finally, I had to put my robot in a scene. Aside from regular animations, there had to be simulations in my scene. My Robot had to interact with objects around him. Therefore I created a mug and monitor which were being hit by the robot’s stick. Both Ncloth and Bullet simulations were applied in my scene.

For the final render, I was allowed to add camera movements in Premiere Pro. This included a zoom and a pan to the left. Music and SFX were not added to the final video.
