It was the second edition of PonyCon Holland. A brony convention held in Zeist, Netherlands. Last year, I was aiming for a longer animation. As for now, it only needed to be a little animation loop, that would be played when the crowd was slowly walking in the main hall before the opening ceremony.
This year (2022), the main character Waffles, also known as Stroopwafeltje, is accompanied by two new friends: Poffertje and Fan Brush. The Waffles rig was already made last year. The rigs for the new characters were a latest addition. For the animation I only needed a side view for the characters.
As this years theme was Fairytales Vs Nightmares, the animation had to be mysterious and a little scary, but also funny. The characters are having a campfire in an enchanted forest. With scary creatures watching them from the woods, the three characters are having a blast eating marshmellows.
This was one of my first animations where I had used mutilple Adobe tools. Character animation and the fire were done inside Animate, the background was made in Photoshop and finally, the full composition was made inside After Effects.
